$2 Billion in SHIB Now Held by ETH Whales as Their Bet on Token Grows

Recently Shared Data Shows The Top Ethereum Whales Now Own Over $1 Billion In Shiba Inu And Have Raised Their Bets On This Cryptocurrency

Whale Statistics crypto-tracking service has tweeted that the largest Ethereum whales have amassed more than $2 billion in SHIB, while the coin is back on the list of assets the whales buy the most.

Holding $2 Billion in Meme Cryptos

According to WhaleStats, the richest Ethereum whales (the top 1,000 of them) now own more than $2 billion in Shiba Inu dog crypto – the second largest meme cryptocurrency by market cap after Dogecoin. The time difference in their launch is seven years.

The tweet shows that the top ETH whales have 18,260,127,622,912 worth $2,761,646,130.

However, a closer look at WhaleStats data shows that whales have sold some of their SHIB holdings by the time they appear. Now they own $1,671,954,254 worth of SHIB, which is 16.3% of their portfolio.

The amount of FTX token these whales hold is slightly larger: $1,683,705,970 or 16.42% of their investment.

SHIB is back on the list of the top 10 coins bought

Another Twitter post from WhaleStats announced that SHIB has returned to the list of the 10 coins most actively bought by the largest whales that keep most of their money in Ethereum.

The meme token is currently in fifth place, with a value of $5,930 as an average amount purchased by whales. This is the equivalent of 190,552.69 Shiba Inu.

The average number of SHIB owned by these whales is 185,428,392, according to WhaleStats.

Is MATIC now more popular than SHIB?

Polygon’s native token MATIC comes fifth, ahead of SHIB on the list of the top 10 cryptocurrencies bought by whales.

WhaleStats shared data on four transactions where a pair of whales bought a total of 3,856,244 MATIC. This amount of crypto makes up $7,019,042 in fiat. This MATIC was usually bought in pieces of just over a million tokens.

One of the investors who participated in the purchase is ranked 397th by WhaleStats and now owns a total of $7,233,322. That is 11.53% of their investment portfolio.
