This month Asus released an incredible 13-inch 2-in-1 gaming laptop for the ASUS Flow X13 and ROG XG Mobile. Both devices have very compact eGPUs. According to a statement from Asus, the two devices can work together to provide efficient setup for super mobile gaming, though you should keep in mind that the Mobile Flow X13 is just as capable as the ROG X13 laptop itself. , ASUS Flow X13 can easily pack Ryden 9 5980HS processor and AMD Ryzens Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics processor.
Even though CES 2021 is actually completely digital and we’re confident to say that Asus is in a deep race inexperience. Below are the features and design experiences with Asus on the Flow X13 and XG Mobile.
ASUS FLOW X3 features
This is the exhaustion of the ASUS Flow X13.
Weight & size: The Flow X13 is quite light at 1.3 kg and 0.62 inches thick. It’s a pretty decent portable size and weight for a laptop of such dimensions, but great for a video game system.
Graphics Card: As such, the GeForce GTX 1650 (entry-level graphics processor) includes the Flow X13 package which is a fantastic experience. one you can find in some general purpose laptops that want some capacity to speed up 3D graphics. The Flow X13 is also a truly unique convertible laptop that folds into a tablet as well as a stand setup.
Display: You have the option to combine it with a 16:10 diversified dual screen like 1080p, 120Hz refresh rate panel, and a 4K resolution display.
RAM: LPDDR4x 4266 MHz paired with dual-channel RAM offers a very unusual experience for gaming users
Input/output system: ROG XG Mobile Interface (PCIe 3.0 x8), USB-A 3.2 Gen. 2 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen. 2 watts DisplayPort and 3.5mm combined audio supplied power with HDMI 2.0b
Battery: 62000 mAh battery with 100W Type-C AC connection
XG Mobile is the companion here. This eGPU case can be fully equipped with an Nvidia 3080 GeForce RTX, although it only measures 1.14 x 6.1 to 8.1 inches (HWD). Asus estimates that this equates to 6% of the total eGPU measurements and actually rates some much larger eGPU boxes like Razer and others as well. I can confidently confirm that it is a much smaller size than your usual style. It is cooled by a small steam chamber to keep its operation within its small size specification.
If you’re not familiar with the concept of an eGPU, consider actually plugging a laptop (usually a less powerful manufacturer) into an external graphics “booster” box. The GPU has its own dedicated internal box. When the notebook is connected, the notebook uses an external processor graphics processor to enhance graphics, not its own to increase functionality.
Portability and Connectivity
This lets you easily take your system with you for everyday use and connect it to the eGPU when you return home for advanced video games without the need for a separate gaming computer. XG Mobile goes a step further by building an eGPU on its own laptop as well, so you can easily navigate your video games.
XG Mobile can be connected to your laptop via a PCI Express 3.0 x8 interface. According to Asus, it’s much faster than Thunderbolt 4. The adapters used and cable TV at least are currently unique to this pair of devices.
Graphics processor: RTX 3080w
Main memory: V-RAM 16GB G-DDR6
Input/output connection: USB 3.2 first generation, Type-A, HDMI 2.0a, ROG XG Mobile interface (on laptop) with USB-C charging function, DC input.
Weight and size: Fairly lightweight only 2.2 pounds, which is approximately 1 kg. and 208x155x29.6mm is the screen size
Power supply: integrated 280 W
Asus claims for laptops that the adapted cooling system drops 7 degrees for the processor and 8 degrees for the graphics processor, although the device has different parts and a new case that hasn’t been used in the device since last year.
There are many problems with this gadget without self awareness. How much will consumers spend on the optional 2-in-one and XG Mobile laptops? How much better would XG Mobile actually end up with eGPUs? Is there an appetite for an eGPU for phones?
We want to respond quickly to most of these issues as soon as we have a chance to evaluate Flow 13 in addition to XG Mobile ourselves.
