On your mobile phone (iPhone, iPad or Android), use the Instagram app to update the email address in your account.

Start by launching the Instagram app on your phone. Tap your profile icon in the bottom bar of the app.

Tap “Edit Profile” on your profile page.

On the “Edit Profile” screen, tap “Personal Information Settings” at the bottom.

Tap the “Email Address” field.

You will see a “Change Email” screen. Enter the new email address you want to use with your Instagram account here. Then tap the check mark in the top right corner.

You will see the prompt “Check your email”. Tap “OK”.

Instagram sent an email to your new email address for verification. So open your email inbox, open the email from Instagram and tap the ‘Confirm email address’ link in the email.

And that’s it. Your new email address is now the primary email address for your Instagram account.

Change your Instagram email address on desktop

If you are using a desktop computer such as Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook, use the Instagram website to change your email address.

To do this, first open a web browser on your computer and start the Instagram Place. Log in to your account on the site.

After signing up, click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the site.

Select “Profile” from the menu that opens.

On the profile page, next to your username, click ‘Edit Profile’.

Scroll down the “Edit Profile” page so that you see the “Email” field. Click this field and enter the new email address you want to use in your account. Then click on ‘Send’.

You must verify your new email address by clicking a link in the email you receive from Instagram. To do this, open your email inbox, open the email from Instagram, and click the “Confirm Email Address” link in that email.

And your Instagram email address has now been changed. You will now use this new email address to log into the platform on all your devices.

You may also want to change your email address on Facebook. It’s equally easy (and important) to do that.
