According to a senior police official on Tuesday, February 16, more than 26,000 police officers who previously refused to be vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19) have changed their mind and have accepted to be vaccinated.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) administrative support for the COVID-19 Task Force (ASCOTF) has stepped up its communication campaign to convince all its staff to take advantage of the government’s coronavirus vaccination.

The aggressive intelligence effort, according to Lieutenant General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, deputy chief of administration and contemporaneous PNP-ASCOTF commander, is being conducted using an application available only to PNP personnel.

Eleazar said videos and fact sheets about the benefits of vaccination from the Ministry of Health and other scientists are regularly posted on PNP CODA (COVID-19 data) to educate both uniformed and civilian personnel about how the vaccine works and its benefits amid of the ongoing threat of infection by the deadly virus.

“We attribute the reluctance of some of our staff to receive the COVID-19 vaccination to the deluge of information they would read or see, particularly on social media.”
“But as our health professionals consistently emphasize, the benefits of vaccination significantly outweigh the dangers and claims of danger,” noted Eleazar.

“What we need to do now is convince or encourage people to get vaccinated.”
But we want to make it clear that we don’t pressure them; we’re just trying to explain everything,” he continued.

Eleazar stated that they expect more police officers to receive the COVID-19 vaccinations now that the PNP has expanded the distribution of vaccination information to other platforms, such as direct conversations with PNP members.

The PNPCODA experiences access traffic due to the simultaneous NATIONAL VACCINATION and the additional module of the SELF-ASSESSMENT, causing an influx of access traffic.
Given the high priority of SWAB TESTS in CRAME, PRO7 and PRO11, as well as the NATIONAL VACCINATION IMPLEMENTATION, the PNPCODA team makes every effort to accommodate everyone given the limited resources of the system.

Please bear with us while we make the required adjustments and recommendations to update the DPRM/TCDS instructions and instructions for using the SELF-ASSESSMENT during this time as needed.
