Samsung app confirms Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro likely to remove classic version – Technology News, Firstpost

There are several rumors that Samsung is working on the next generation of the Galaxy watch and the fact that they may be removing the rotating bezel. Thanks to a new Samsung Health update, we now know that the Galaxy Watch 5 will be available in two variants, a regular Galaxy Watch 5 and a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

With today’s new Galaxy Watch 4 beta, there was also a beta update to the Samsung Health app, version 6.22.0.069. While this beta didn’t bring any new features or design upgrades, it did add support for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. It’s important to note that there is no Galaxy Watch 5 Classic in the app, which is a strong indication that there probably won’t be a Galaxy Watch 5 Classic.

Several laymen have also noted that the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will not have a rotating bezel. There are also claims that the watch may use materials such as sapphire crystal and titanium for the display and case, making it look like a more premium version of the regular Galaxy Watch 5.

While the Galaxy Watch 4 series has proven to be a hit, battery life was one of the least satisfying parts of the lineup. Apparently that’s something Samsung is preparing to fix with the “Galaxy Watch 5 Pro”, which is said to have a 60% larger battery if there are rumors.

Galaxy Watch 5 comes with a 572 mAh battery. Most smartwatches have batteries with a capacity of about 400 mAh. Very few smartwatches can last for two full days, so there’s a good chance that the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro with the capacity jump will be a watch that will last more than 3 days.

In the world of Wear OS, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 offers one of the most complete health and fitness tracking experiences. The Galaxy Watch was expected to add 5 to that package and offer body temperature readings. Now, however, it seems that such a plan will fail. It seems that Apple and also Samsung have problems measuring the body temperature on their smartwatch.
