In a recent tweet, the team at Shibburn Twitter account spread the word about another series of SHIB burns that have taken place in the past 24 hours.

In total, more than a quarter of a billion Shiba Inu have been destroyed.

287.3 million SHIB taken off the market

Shibburn has shared details from their website, which says that in the past 24 hours, 287,321,056 meme coins were sent to “inferno” wallets, where they were locked permanently with no chance of withdrawal.

Pushing this quarter-billion SHIB to dead addresses has cost 12 transactions, according to the SHIB brand page on the website.

The largest piece of SHIB burned was 200,026,215 – these Shiba tokens were destroyed about 22 hours ago.

SHIB burn rate skyrockets

Shiba’s circulating supply now stands at 552,340,224,547,464 tokens.

According to data from the Shibburn website, the burn speed of the second most popular meme cryptocurrency has increased by a whopping 8,309 percent in the past 24 hours.
