How does IPTV broadcasting work?
IPTV transports digital signals over the internet. IPTV uses an IP (Internet Protocol) based network instead of cable or satellite to deliver TV channels to users’ set-top boxes. When you stream IPTV, the recorded or live television program is converted from an analog signal into a digital signal.
For smooth streaming of videos, the service also compresses videos to reduce their size. Most videos are in high quality MPEG2 or newer MPEG4 format. In this way the program preparation is completed.
IP multicasting is used for web streaming. IPTV service providers use CDN (Content Delivery System) for fast delivery of data packets in different geolocations. CDN reduces server load, resulting in fast streaming and buffering of programs.
