Would you buy a video like NFT? YouTube can provide that

(Pocket Ribbon) – YouTube is the latest company to jump on the NFT train.

In a recent letter to creators about YouTube’s priorities for the new year, CEO Susan Wojcicki suggested the company is considering letting its creators take advantage of the digital collectibles. The letter states: “We are always focused on expanding the YouTube ecosystem to help creators take advantage of emerging technologies, including things like NFTs, while continuing to empower and improve the experiences of creators and fans on YouTube.”

The letter essentially describes YouTube’s plans to invest in gaming and shopping, as well as how it plans to support creators. Wojcicki noted that YouTube is exploring Web3 “as an inspiration” — including opportunities in crypto, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and NFTs.

While the CEO wasn’t specific about how YouTube might integrate NFTs into its platform or what that might look like, she did suggest that the technology could provide a new revenue stream for creators. “The past year in the world of crypto, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and even decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) has highlighted a previously unimaginable opportunity to grow the bond between creators and their fans,” she wrote.
